May is Arthritis Awareness Month
Spearheaded by the Arthritis Foundation, May is Arthritis Awareness Month. The goal is to increase awareness of arthritis. Better understanding arthritis can benefit both patients with arthritis and people who are not afflicted with the disease. Arthritis is often misunderstood, largely due to misconceptions, misinformation, and old wives tales which persist.
Arthritis is the nation’s leading cause of disability. According to the Arthritis Foundation, 46 million men, women and children live with arthritis in the United States.

Move: Arthritis Awareness Month is a time to motivate Americans to get up and moving, while raising funds for arthritis research, support and advocacy. The Arthritis Walk is the Arthritis Foundation’s annual nationwide event that supports public awareness and raises funds to fight arthritis.
