June Is Men’s Health Awareness Month
National Men’s Health Week was established in 1994 by Congress, to show how simple, diagnostic, and screening tests can save lives. This has grown to a month-long educational event. The month of June gives health care providers, public policy makers, the media, and individuals an opportunity to encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury.
In recognition of Men’s Health Awareness Month, American Nutrition will be running a series of blog posts that focus on men’s health.
To get us started, here is one thing you can do to help spread the word about Men’s Health Month:
Wear BLUE is a program designed to raise awareness of men’s health issues within your community while at the same time raising money for Men’s Health Network, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to reach men and their families where they live, work, play, and pray with health prevention messages and tools, screening programs, educational materials, advocacy opportunities, and patient navigation.
HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE:
* Choose your day.
* Choose a goal amount.
* Wear BLUE.
* Use the online tools to plan your event.
