Experience the Immune Enhancing Effects of Agaricus Blazei Mushroom

December 23, 2010

Agaricus Blazei mushroom is as important a finding as was penicillin in the 1920’s. Modern research is showing that the main medicinal properties of this mushroom are anti-tumor and immune enhancement. In almost all of the studies published to date, the rate of tumor remission for all types of cancer has been amazingly high! Most of these studies have been done with rats or guinea pigs, but the hope is that results should be similar in humans. The largest and most complete human trials today are being done in China and Japan. Some of the more important active ingredients are: Beta-(1-3)-D-glucan, Beta-(1-4)-a -D-glucan & Beta – (1-6)-D-glucan. Known collectively as Beta-glucans, these substances are the most potent immunopotentiating (immune enhancing) substances yet found. They also have very powerful anti-tumor properties. It is thought by most scientists that the anti-tumor properties of these chemicals are directly resultant from the immune enhancement. That is, the beta-glucans do not directly cause the anti-tumor effect, but rather they trigger the bodies’ own anti-tumor response. This is relatively easy to measure, as the human body produces a type of anti-tumor white blood cell known as Natural Killer cells (NK cells). When human subjects are given BLAZEI in their diet, a 3000% increase of NK cells in the blood is seen within 2-4 days.

Ergosterol derivatives, also known as provitamine D2 is a potent anti-tumor agent.

Double stranded RNA – Anti-viral agent.

Proteoglucans and Protein bound Polysaccharides (low molecular weight) – Immune enhancement.

Protein bound polysaccharides of high molecular weight (referred to in the literature as “ATOM”) – provide a host-mediated anti cancer response against at least four different types of cancer in tests conducted at the Mei University School of Medicine in Japan. (ATOM)

NutraceuticsRx uses only AgariPure™ prime “A” grade Agaricus Blazei mushroom. AgariPure™ is a full spectrum product that contains all of the active components of the Agaricus Mushroom. AgariPure™ uses both water and ethanol extraction techniques. Some of the active components of the Agaricus Blazei mushrooms are not water soluble and therefore must be extracted by alcohol. AgariPure™ is meticulously extracted to contain a ultra high polysaccharide content of 55%.

Winter is Coming… Give Your Immune System a Boost!

November 9, 2010

Flavonoids are potent antioxidants that protect the body and fight silent inflammation – the leading cause of many chronic diseases, including cancer, heart disease, stroke, dementia and others. Flavonoid-rich foods include vegetables, tea, red wine and dark chocolate.

There are more than 5,000 flavonoids, but one of the most powerful is Quercetin. It’s one of nature’s best immune boosters and antihistamines – and among the most abundant flavonoids found in food.

Quercetin fights free radicals that can damage cells. But what really makes quercetin unique is that it protects you in three ways. It’s contains antioxidant, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory power. It stops your body from boosting histamine levels when you get sick, which can reduce symptoms like a stuffy nose, congestion and more.

One recent study by The American Journal of Physiology found that quercetin can protect against the flu for immune systems under stress. Another study put Quercetin’s healing powers to the test against the common cold, when University of Michigan researchers tested Quercetin on cells infected with the rhinovirus. Quercetin stopped the virus from replicating and prevented excess inflammation.

In a study to test the strength of Quercetin and vitamin C for fighting free radicals, Quercetin was a more effective antioxidant than vitamin C. So the next time you come down with a bug, treat it with 10 mg of quercetin daily.

The easiest way to get enough Quercetin is to eat dark, leafy, greens, or other dark-colored vegetables like red onions, scallions and kale. Even capers have Quercetin. But, what you may not know is that if you cook those veggies, they lose Quercetin. So it’s best to eat them washed and raw. A good way to remember which fruits have the most Quercetin is that they have it in the skin. That means blueberries, blackberries, cherries, grapes, and, of course, apples.

You can also try supplementing. American Nutrition carries a variety of dosages of Quercetin – along with several other rare and naturalimmune-boosting herbs and nutrients.
