Anamu the “Magical” Immune System Herb

Anamu (Petiveria alliacea), is a magical plant found deep in the Amazon rainforests. It contains many active compounds that protect your body against bacteria, fungus, and even diseases like cancer. It helps bring down fever while reducing parasites and fungus. Anamu is also used for aches, pain, colds, coughs, and skin diseases. It can be rubbed on the skin to protect against insects. Anamu stimulates the immune system. In one study, Anamu increased natural killer cells by 100%.2 These are the cells that kill disease throughout the body. It also increases chemicals such as interleukin and interferon. These help protect the body against future infection and disease.3

Anamu protects against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and yeast.4 It guards against urinary problems and diabetes. In fact, in one animal study, blood sugar levels dropped more than 60 percent in one hour.5

Anamu can be used as a pain reliever as it contains COX-1 inhibitors. This is the active ingredient in the new arthritis drugs sold by pharmaceutical companies.6

Traditional healers make an infusion using 30 grams (slightly more than one ounce) dried anamu in a liter of water. Recommended Serving Size is 1/4 to 1/2 cup, (500 to 1000 mg per day in divided doses), one to three times daily. It can also be applied to the skin, depending on the condition.

Anamu is available as a dried, powdered herb in capsules or in Bulk powder to mix in a drink.
