After the age of 20 our lung capacity decreases .5% -1% per year. Our bodies need a significant amount of oxygen to function normally.
Breathing in oxygen helps us to release carbon dioxide which is a toxin produced by our lungs. Oxygen gives us energy, reduces stress effects, promotes healthy blood circulation and helps our bodies maintain a healthy weight. Lack of oxygen can cause severe health issues including sleeping disorders, memory loss, obesity, Hypoxia and much more.
With age, Just like our muscles and our skin elasticity, the elasticity in our lungs is reduced. This causes our lungs to become weaker and unable to receive the amount of oxygen our bodies require.
Physical exercise, meditation and breathing exercises can help increase your lung capacity and keep your lungs strong. Allowing your lungs to receive their maximum oxygen capacity can help build up the elasticity they require to function normally.
Follow these simple breathing exercises daily to help increase oxygen flow to your body.
- Clear your mind and try to relax
- Take a long deep breath and fill your lungs with air
