La Industria láctea ha intentando sobreponerse de los problemas que acarrean los láctea, tratando de adaptarse a las necesidades nutricionales de cada individuo: si la leche entera es mala para el colesterol, producen la leche desnatada; si la desnatada parece agua, producen la semi-desnatada; si al desnatar pierde las vitaminas liposolubles, añaden vitaminas A y D; si el individuo tiene osteoporosis, añaden calcio; si tiene alto colesterol, producen la leche con Omega-3 (aceites de pescado) en vez de la grasa láctea; para facilitar la digestión, leche baja en lactosa; si necesitas fibra, leche con fibra; para niños en desarrollo del crecimiento, está la leche con 12 vitaminas y minerales. Lo que estas industrias deberían producir es leche con los nutrientes naturales, y originales pensando en la salud alimenticia en general.
El consumo de leche puede que no proporcione una fuente consistente y fiable de vitamina D en la dieta. En estudios de la leche se han encontrado numerosas variaciones en el contenido de vitamina D, con algunas muestras que presentaban hasta 500 veces el nivel indicado, mientras que otras poseían poca. Un exceso de vitamina D puede ser tóxico y puede provocar niveles excesivos de calcio en la sangre y en la orina, una absorción superior de aluminio por el organismo y depósitos de calcio en los tejidos blandos. Le recomendamos suplementar a su niño con Colostrum. Los niños a la edad de 8 a 10 años pueden ser suplementados con el colostrum tomando la mitad de la dosis recomendada en la receta. El colostrum puede sustituir la leche o se puede tomar conjuntamente con la leche. Si su niño tiene alergias a la leche usted puede darle el colostrum. El Colostrum es muy importante para el sistema inmunológico.
